Penny Pilot (available on the App Store as "Penny Pilot: Expense Tracker") is built to work entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your transaction data, wallets, budgets, attachments, or any financial information you enter into the app. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no servers storing your personal data. The only information that ever leaves your device is the standard, anonymous diagnostic data Apple's iOS may automatically collect on our behalf, described below. Everything else, including your transactions, wallets, budgets, attachments, and financial data, stays on your device, always.

If you choose to attach a location to a transaction, Penny Pilot accesses your device's location solely to record that information within the transaction you are creating. This location data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

If you choose to attach a photo to a transaction, Penny Pilot accesses your camera or photo library solely to capture or select the image you choose. Photos attached to transactions are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to us or any third party.

All data generated and processed within the app, including any AI-generated insights, is produced entirely on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks and is never sent to us or any third party.

Data We Do Collect

The only data that may leave your device is automatic, anonymized diagnostic information collected by Apple's standard iOS frameworks, such as crash reports and performance diagnostics. This data is:

Data Stored on Your Device

All data you enter into Penny Pilot, including transactions, wallets, budgets, attachments, and settings, is stored locally on your device only. If you delete the app, this data is removed along with it, unless you have made your own backup through Apple's standard device backup systems, such as iCloud device backup or local computer backup, which are managed entirely by Apple and your device's own backup settings, not by us.

We do not currently offer in-app cloud sync or export. If this changes in a future update, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe exactly what is shared, with whom, and how you can control it before any such feature is enabled by default.

Purchases and Subscriptions

All purchases, including Pro subscriptions and any one-time purchases, are processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit payment systems. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card details, billing address, or any other payment information. This is handled entirely by Apple in accordance with Apple's own privacy policy.

We may receive limited, non-identifying information from Apple confirming the status of a purchase, for example whether a subscription is active, solely to unlock the relevant features within the app.

Third Parties

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data to third parties, because we do not collect any user data to share in the first place, aside from the anonymous diagnostic information described above, which is collected and managed directly by Apple under Apple's own privacy practices.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, such as the GDPR in the European Union, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA in California, regarding any personal data collected about you. Because Penny Pilot does not collect personal data beyond the anonymous diagnostics described above, there is generally no personal data held by us to access, correct, delete, or export. Children's Privacy

Penny Pilot does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the app requires no account and stores all data locally on the user's own device, no personal information is transmitted to us regardless of the user's age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features such as optional cloud backup. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If a future change meaningfully affects how your data is handled, we will make this clear within the app as well.
